It caught my eye because I can really relate to it. Well not in love with my best friend, but yeah one of my friends that I was close with. Not so much anymore; people change, and people drift away. Him hanging in a new crowd and whatnot. Having been so close to him, and now so far away, is really painful. I can't imagine anything more painful than unrequited love.
